FINDING DECEMBER

At thirteen, Phyllis Bivins-Hudson entered her first romantic relationship without knowing what love should feel like—or what it should never demand.

Finding December is a deeply personal memoir about how our earliest experiences quietly shape the relationships we choose, the boundaries we struggle to hold, and the versions of ourselves we learn to become.

This is the story of learning to recognize love that doesn’t require self-erasure—and finally arriving at a season where safety and self-worth are no longer negotiable.
